I've always had an active lifestyle.
I grew up in Hawaii and I fell in love with surfing, swimming, and hiking. I moved to Washington for college and just became lost.
I became a mother to the best daughter, but still felt lost.
I found comfort in alcohol, and it worked until it didn't. I became my own enemy and I was in denial about my alcoholism for years.
It wasn't until a little over 6 years ago when I was about to lose the love of my life, my house, and pretty much everything that meant something to me, that I had an awakening that I had to change something in my life.
And yes, it was everything and I decided to become sober.
It may seem like a sad story. But when you can turn your greatest weakness into your greatest strength and use that in all aspects of your life, things you never could have imagined start happening.

I had a dream of competing in bodybuilding competitions 10 years ago. It wasn't until last year that I took the leap and gave it my all and competed in a local show. The journey was incredible and I've found my new passion. Lifting weights is the one thing that I fail at everyday, only to get back off the floor to rise higher.
I felt at home in the gym 13 years ago and it became one of my saving graces through my sobriety journey, alongside my family and newfound friends.
